GeoKinetics’ personnel have extensive experience
in the completion of both Phase I and Phase II environmental site
assessments, as well as in the development, permitting, and implementation
of remedial action plans. With respect to environmental site characterization
investigations, GeoKinetics' staff is experienced in the application
of non-destructive/non-intrusive investigative techniques, such as
ground penetrating radar, electro-magnetic induction, seismic refraction
and resistivity surveys. GeoKinetics' staff members are also knowledgeable
in the utilization of semi-intrusive/low profile investigative
techniques, such as cone penetration testing, soil vapor sampling
and analysis, and Hydro-punch groundwater sampling. Our staff has
extensive experience in the application of a wide range of environmental
drilling and sampling techniques for site conditions ranging from
soft, poorly consolidated soils to hard crystalline rock. GeoKinetics’
personnel have completed both vertical and horizontal monitoring or
recovery well installations to depths in excess of 400 feet. In addition,
our personnel are experienced in the utilization of a number of downhole
geophysical testing and sampling techniques, such as dipmeter, gamma,
resistivity, induction, sonic, and caliper logging; as well as sidewall
coring or sampling, and the use of small diameter, stereoscopic borehole
cameras. Several of the GeoKinetics' personnel or associates are experienced
in environmental forensic investigations and expert testimony for
technically and legally complex litigation. In this regard, GeoKinetics
has successfully utilized a number of state-of-the-art chemical
"fingerprinting" and tracking techniques to identify both
the source and age of soil and groundwater contaminants at several
sites.
With respect to remediation, GeoKinetics personnel have developed,
permitted and/or implemented remedial action plans for sites contaminated
with crude oil, gasoline, diesel, naphtha, non-chlorinated solvents,
chlorinated solvents, pesticides, and heavy metals. These personnel
have developed, and received regulatory agency approval, for several
innovative remediation techniques. Much of the recovery and treatment
hardware utilized by GeoKinetics has been designed and fabricated
in-house. Among other things, this hardware includes:
- A variety of high efficiency, skimming pneumatic product and
groundwater recovery pumps with individual programmable electronic
or pneumatic controllers.
- A vacuum recovery pneumatic pumping system capable of recovering
product and/or groundwater without the need for the usual secondary
containment piping systems.
- An ultra-violet groundwater treatment system capable of removing
most dissolved organic compounds to non-detectable levels.
- Hydrogen peroxide injection and metering systems.
GeoKinetics is thoroughly familiar with, and has successfully utilized
pump and treat, vapor extraction, enhanced biodegradation and several
other remediative techniques. GeoKinetics owns and maintains a variety
of remediative equipment, including a high efficiency, AQMD approved,
computer controlled, vapor phase thermal destruction unit; a number
of ultraviolet groundwater treatment reactors; a high capacity,
explosion proof regenerative blower; and a variety of other recovery
and treatment hardware. GeoKinetics' field personnel are highly
trained, OSHA certified, and thoroughly familiar with the use of
this equipment, as well as with standard environmental health &
safety, sampling and testing protocol.
